The Big meadow reserve is one of the few Lammas meadows left in England and is owned by The Leicestershire and Rutland Wildlife Trust. It is the only known site in the county today for the nationally scarce narrow-leafed water-dropwort.
ETS has a number of initiatives to reduce the risk of impact on the environment from its activities including:
Blue painted gully and manhole covers identify that the surface water will be discharged to the local watercourse via interceptors.
Other discharges are identified with red painted gully and manhole covers.
